| On February 14th 2005, 214 Miners were killed in a gas explosion at this mine. The terrible Sunjiawan Mine disaster occurred less than twelve months after I took this image of No.3, one of the mine's diminutive narrow gauge electrics in the yard at Sunjiawan. I recall the wonderful hospitality and cameradie of the men we met here working in conditions that would have closed the mine immediately in Western countries. |
