| This section of the ex-Clinchfield is certainly "hurry up and wait" territory. This NB manifest stopped for meets at Rocky then Toe River before getting back up to speed passing through Penland as seen here. I must add that on the drive to Penland I experienced a new kind of railfanning hazard - chickens in the road! Luckily Penland Rd doesn't support much more than 25 MPH, and I was able to stop in time to spare the clucking fowls. |
