The Otter Tail Valley Railroad's train from Fergus Falls, MN to Fargo, ND and back is on its return leg as it stops just south of Barnesville to unload a few cars destined for the town's grain elevator. The shortline OTVR operates over 71 miles of former Great Northern track between Fergus Falls and Moorhead, MN. The track was once a secondary GN main line, and Barnesville itself used to host a yard that handled occasional manifests to and from Grand Forks, ND.
