      Remarks & Notes
1978 was a big year for main line steam specials. Ten years after the end of BR steam, the Settle to Carlisle route was opened up to steam specials. Here we see 4771 Green Arrow crossing Batty Moss viaduct at Ribblehead returning with the first trip over the line in the preserved steam era. It was Easter Monday and it was very cold and snowy as Easter came early that year, sadly Green Arrow is now only a static exhibit.
