| Having visited Utah on numerous occasions I have never been fortunate enough to catch the former KCC GP39-2s working. On this particular trip on a drive to somewhere else I decided on a whim to make a quick detour. Low and behold two high cab GP39-2s (792 & 799) built in 1978 for use in Kennecott's Bingham Canyon open pit mine are seen here shoving nearly 100 cars around the reverse curves just east of the 2100 South Hwy overpass as they make a delivery to the UP's Garfield Yard. |
