| With a little bit of overflow flood water still left in the Yolo flood basin, the UP844 West steams across the Yolo Causeway between Sacramento and Davis, CA. The near horizontal smoke plume tells a story as Steve Lee has the 844's throttle wide open for this intro-stretch of the Cal-P mainline. Without diesel assistance, steam has accelerated it's train to 79mph maximum authorized passenger train trackspeed! |
