| Another shot from the archives from 1978. Class 40 no. 40 181 heads a westbound oil train through Park Station, Manchester. These locos were withdrawn from service over twenty years ago and only a small number of preserved examples remain. They were the staple diet around Manchester at that time. The station, which is sited near the City of Manchester Stadium, was closed many years ago. So, an unrepeatable scene really. |
