          Remarks & Notes
It's not often that you'll find Lowell's trolley fleet operating in the evening hours. Most days, they're all back in the barn by 5:30 PM. On the last weekend in July however, the City of Lowell plays host to the annual Lowell Folk Festival....a celebration of music, arts, crafts and food. This event brings thousands of visitors to the city and the National Park Service does its part to ensure that festival-goers have an easy time getting around. They operate a free trolley service between the major venues, all day and well into the evening. In this evening shot, the beautiful Car 1602 slides past the B&M exhibit as she approaches the Park Visitor Center. The 1602, is a replica of an early 1900s J.G. Brill "Breezer" Car and she seats 75 people. With 3 cars out on the line this day, the NPS folks were carrying about 700 visitors per hour.
