    There is only one survivor in this photo and I’ll give you two guesses who it is. Well, things were pretty rough for this old wig wag, judging by the less than perfect paint job on its bent up old banner, I’d say its seen better days. Story has it that it met its fate when a big rig truck unceremoniously ran it over as it guarded its post at 9th and D Street in Colton California. Originally a Pacific Electric operation, the Union Pacific now handles the traffic on this nearly 100 year old branch line. Photo is from a December 28th 1999 encounter. ? Steve Crise Photo.
