Remarks & Notes

A 96 car UP grain train cruises west along Great Salt Lake at Burmester, Utah. In the distance, Kennecott Copper's 1215 foot tall smokestack stands about 16 rail miles east at Garfield. Union Pacific's Shafter Subdivision between Smelter, Utah and Alazon, Nevada was part of the historic Western Pacific Railroad.
