      Remarks & Notes
With the temperature an uncharacteristically cold 8 degrees, fresh snow on the ground, and residue of the previous night's ice fog clinging to everything in sight, winter is in the air on a crisp, clear January morning in Crookton, AZ (elevation 5690ft). Having crested the climb out of Valentine and Peach Springs, four GE motors will have an easy go of it handling their eastbound Z for the next few miles before beginning the arduous climb to Flagstaff and the Continental Divide.
