| On this trip the T-Bird trains met at Iron Junction as seen by all the dust as the rear end of the load disappears. These 2 train sets work daily moving raw iron ore for United Taconite from their mine near Virginia, MN, to the processing plant near Forbes, MN. Most days these trains make 2-4 round trips. The train are made up of 100 cars with 2 idlers cars on each end. CN uses 2 older 40's type units for the 10 mile trip one way over the Missabe Sub. |
