| On this particular weekend SOO 559 was in charge of the Marine on St. Croix/Maple Island excursions. However, the locomotive put up quite a fight in order to be started. The workers tried to start the locomotive with an air compressor...then they tried to jump the locomotive with an old high-rail suburban...but as it turned out the equipment to start the locomotive was in one of the trailing passenger cars. The crew was able to fit in one of the two round trips planned to Maple Island, regardless of the frustrating start to the day. |
