The photographer took advantage of some airborne dust via newly applied ballast to capture this shadowy evening view of a BNSF manifest entering the Red Narrows of Spanish Fork Canyon. The old telecom code lines, installed by the D&RGW many decades ago continue to serve Union Pacific's CTC needs on Soldier Summit, at least for now.
Landscape photography is difficult due to the challenge of combining good light and good scenery. Good railroad photography enters another level of complexity since it requires the first two while there is a train in view.
