Remarks & Notes

A short Lathrop, CA bound stack train approaches Tunnel #3 between Cliff and Bealville, as it passes the remnants of Tunnel #4 visible in the shadow to the right of the train. Damaged beyond repair, during an earthquake in 1952, Southern Pacific decided to abandon the tunnel in favor of the current alignment.
