Car #1740 reaches the end of the line in the 1500 block of Brookline Boulevard, and will soon negotiate the turn-around on the Trolley Loop, which the photographer stands in the center of, to head downtown again. The 39 Brookline route was converted to bus on Sept. 3, 1966, the tracks down the center of Brookline Blvd. paved over where they remain buried today.
