| During the so-called Blizzard of '96 in New England, Amtrak 175 (westbound) scores a point for the "all-weather mode" as it crosses the Niantic River drawbridge (Nan). An offshore breeze is keeping the right-of-way relatively free of snow, and helpfully forms a cloud that isolates the F40 from the background. The 1907 drawbridge is undergoing replacement, with completion due in 2013. |
