| On a perfectly frigid New England day a big eastbound manifest rounds the "famous" Pownal Curve along the Hoosic River on the former Boston & Maine mainline now operated by the Pan Am Southern. Despite having grown up in New England this was the first time I'd ever shot a train at this "signature" location in far southwestern Vermont, and I was not disappointed! It's nice to see that the old "West End" has come back from the dead and now is assured of a prosperous future as a major gateway to New England. |
