| Sparkling Clean - It is quite obvious the pride the ARR takes in its passenger service given how clean and polished the equipment is. The eyes play tricks on you as the mountains and the Indian River are reflected in near perfect symmetry on the flanks of ARR baggage car 101 which is bringing up the rear of this three car pocket streamliner. The Aurora makes a 12 hr journey to Fairbanks every Saturday and returns each Sunday providing the only scheduled winter time passenger train service on the ARR. It is simply a delight to behold, and an experience 180 degrees different from the summer trains. |
