| Cascade Conquest - After a great day railfanning the legendary former Great Northern mainline across the Cascades that involved a lengthy chase of this nice mixed freight running between Spokane and Everett featuring a CP unit mid-consist I was rewarded with this meet at the east end of Gold Bar. Here a new ES44DC #7376 whips eastbound holding the main on the point of the S-SEAFTM-8 Seattle to Fort Madison stack train. In the background the massive bulwark of Mount Index is shrouded in the misty clouds so typical of the Cascades while here on the lowlands the goldenrod is a blaze of brilliant yellow. |
