Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe 3450 was the first of ten 4-6-4s (road number 3450 through 3459) built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1927. As built they had 74 inch drivers, 25 x 28 inch cylinders, operated at a steam pressure of 220 lbs, and developed up to 44,223 lbs of tractive effort. They were equipped as duplex stoker fired coal burners and converted to oil burners in 1932. During the 1930s these ten locomotives were overhauled and received 79" drivers, boiler pressure was raised to 230 psi, and they developed 43,300 pounds of tractive effort. ATSF 3450 was retired in 1953 and eventually was put on display at the Los Angeles County Fairplex in Pomona, California.
