Many British Railways diesel types,upon withdrawal,found themselves employed in other industries.This gave many people a chance to see locomotive types that they would normally have missed by many years.One such loco was Hudswell Clarke shunter D2513,one of a class of 10 locos delivered in the late 1950s/early 1960s to British Railways that had all been withdrawn a few years later.This particular loco was withdrawn in August 1967,and passed into the hands of the National Coal Board,who used it at Cadeby Main Colliery,in South Yorkshire.Life ended for this engine in October 1975,when it was cut up on site.It is seen here in May 1970,at the colliery depot,alongside a couple of steam locos,which were still in use at the time.
