Former Alaska Railroad steamer #557 is lifted into the air while the ARR flatcar is positioned underneath. #557 has been in possession of the late Monte Holm, who rescued it from a scrapper in Everett, WA in the 1960s. After Holm's passing, the steamer was eventually bought and donated to the Alaska, who will eventually restore it for service.
