Runthru trains 213/214, initiated in 1973, generally ran over A&WP/WofA between Atlanta and Montgomery with L&N power. Though they were a big step toward loss of the WP/Georgia group as independent companies, the gray and yellow power was a welcome relief from WP/GA black paint.
Photos taken in the Deep South--primarily Alabama and Georgia--from the 1970s to the early 2000s. Featured railroads include the ICG, the West Point Route, SCL, Southern, Frisco, and even KCS.
