| LS&I 1604 is coupled to a pair 40 foot newsprint service cars as it waits to shove them into the Kimberly-Clark Munising Plant. The 1604 was LS&I's last operable RS-3 and was maintained to operate the short stretch of isolated LS&I trackage from Munising to a connection with the Soo and later WC at Munising Jct. The LS&I's own line from Munsing Jct. to Little Lake and Marquette is going to be abandoned in 1978, the year this photo was taken. |
