| The first eastbound run of Amtrak's California Zephyr via the D&RGW enters the new Thistle line relocation in Spanish Fork Canyon. This vantage point has changed greatly in the past 29 years as vegetation has grown up along the right of way obscuring the track. Local railfans named this spot 'Vern Jeffers Curve' to honor a good friend and local Utah railroad historian who passed away in 1997. |
