| Salt Lake City Southern's third locomotive in three years awaits a call to duty in the former UP Pallas Yard at 53rd South and Riley Lane in Murray. This EMD GP38 was transferred from RailTex's Missouri & Arkansas Railroad to work the Utah shortline. The tall smokestack, a Murray City icon, served the American Smelting and Refining Company on State Street. This 465 foot stack would be knocked down in August of 2000 when an IHC hospital was build in its place. |
