| Over the last 7 years the DM&E and CP have done alot of track improvements on the Mason City Sub. Especially between MP 39 and MP 62. This section still had 90 pound jointed rail til 2005. It was wore way past its use. Today's 478 rolls along at 40 mph on the new 136 pound rail put in during 2005, the ride is smooth and easy. |
