Remarks & Notes

Fresh from a repaint at the Salt Lake Shops, Union Pacific SW9 1831 takes a breather in the Goat Pit at North Yard. The 1931 was built new by EMD for UP in April 1953 and was rebuilt by UP as an SW10 in October 31, 1980. It would be retired and sold to David J. Joseph, Co. by July 15, 1998.
