| CNW's North Green Bay Shop/Roundhouse was still a fairly busy location in the mid-80's. The Alco's were assigned to the ore lines to the north until late 1986 and there was fairly heavy activity around the paper producing area of Green Bay and the Fox River Valley. This required numerous switch jobs and locals to handle all the business and geeps were all over the area. CNW had bought a group of GP15-1's to supplement the Oelwein rebuilds that tended to work the area and the GP15-1's while rare elsewhere were common in the Green Bay area. The 4407 has just been moved out of the roundhouse, fueled, sanded and waits for a local crew that will be arriving momentarily. |
