The thing I remember most about the EMD SD45 is the sound. The 20 cylinder power plant produced loads of bass. I recall as a young kid, the sound 'rumbled in my tummy.' Even before you could see one, you knew an SD45 was on the approach, in a train's power consist. Here the Rio Grande 5320 East crosses 2nd West street in Provo. Most everything you see in this view from the UP Freight Depot platform is gone now.
