On a gray afternoon when we weren't even sure it was worth heading to the tracks, a buddy and I happened on this beast sitting behind the former Western Railway of Alabama shops. RSCo was rebuilding this unit and two C628s into yard slugs to splice between pairs of SD38-2s for the yard at West Colton (I think). 7811 became 1002 and the C628s were 1000 and 1001. A rare shot, I think.
