    Remarks & Notes
Steam returns to the Naugy. From his lofty perch in the cab of his trusty U-Boat, an Engineer from the Railroad Museum of New England admires a vistor from another era. For the 3rd year in a row, the RMNE and the Gramling Locomotive Works combined to bring steam back to the old Naugatuck Branch of the New Haven Railroad, affectionately known as "The Naugy". For two consecutive weekends, Flagg Coal #75 hauled passenger excursions south from the historic Thomaston Station to Waterville and back, giving many Western Connecticut residents a rare opportunity to experience the sights, sounds and smells of coal-fired steam. The operation also provided museum volunteers with an opportunity to actually operate a steam engine, under the careful supervision of the Gramlings. This particular scene was shot as the museum's U23B had just arrived in Thomaston, with the passenger consist. After dropping the heavyweight steel coaches at the station, the U-Boat took the siding next to the old Plume & Atwood Mill Building, pulling alongside FC 75 for a nice portrait of the two together in the morning light.
