The first train on the former D&H Sanford Lake Branch in over 20 years rolls NB at the entrance to the Barton Mines Garnet Processing Plant, just north of North River, with a special inspection train for invited guests of the railroad. This location is between milepost NC 5 and NC 6 and just short of the end of currently active track.
