| Rio Grande's super hot piggyback train #100 (interchange received from the SP at Ogden to the BN at Denver) has begun the 25 mile descent from Soldier Summit to a crew change at Helper. Note that East Summit to Colton was single track in those days, and the rail for the reinstallation of the second main is in place, made necessary by the boom in new coal hauling contracts to destinations in the west. |
