Once a year, Norfolk Southern would have an open house at Calumet Yard that allowed employees' family and friends to tour the yard and facilities. 1986 featured an Operation Lifesaver Display featuring brand new NS Dash 8s simulating a grade crossing accident. Tom Golden photo.
