Stranded. After record rain hit in June this year BNSF tracks both east and west of the Tate & Lyle chemical plant in western Duluth were washed out stranding 6 tank cars. Also washed out was the Duluth tourist operation Lake Superior & Mississippi, which had to cancel their 2012 season. BNSF tracks (Duluth Transfer) are on the left while the LS&M is on the right. No word on if BNSF will repair access to the plant and LS&M.
