| The MALMCS is a relatively new train that has started running between Altoona, WI and Mason City, IA to handle hydraulic fracturing sand from northwestern Wisconsin in less than unit train quantities. The train moves sand to Mason City to be split up for multiple destinations. Recently the train has been running almost daily, departing Altoona around mid day. The train is just a few miles into it's trip as it crosses the Chippewa River in Eau Claire. |
