The Donner Pass Route is famous for the incredible amount of dense-wet snow that buries this line every winter. Keeping this line open during the winter is up to a small group of dedicated men and their equipment. The small town of Truckee, California is often used as a "base camp" for snow fighting operations. Truckee sits just to the east of Donner Summit and provides a place for men/equipment to gather before tackling "The Hill". Here you see a couple of Jordan Spreader sets catching some sun in Truckee as they wait to be called out to go clear the famous Donner Pass Route.
