In Cadillac Ranch, Bruce Springsteen sings of Junior Johnson "runnin' through the woods of Caroline." There were no Cadillacs in sight on this picture-perfect fall day, but the line was running through my head as I watched the Norfolk Southern "Thoroughbred" mascot galloping through the pines on this East Carolina Business Unit (ECBU) Operation Life Saver train.
