| After working the yard for several hours, ARR 2003 takes a break and basks in the morning sunlight which belies the brisk -16°F ambient temperature. This unit was built for Penn Central in 1969 and later served with Conrail until 1986. It was rebuilt by NRE prior to making its way onto the Alaska Railroad's roster that same year and has been here ever since. |
