      Remarks & Notes
The Chicago-Phoenix Z makes the move past the old Santa Fe depot onto the scenic Peavine for the final run into this important terminal about 175 rail miles down the mountain and into the valley of the sun. After the turn south at Ash Fork, mileposts convert to MP 0; for the first few miles of the Phoenix sub out of Williams Jct. they use pre-Crookton Cutoff mile numbers. Before 1960 this was part of the transcon along US Rte. 66.
