CP 290 heads southeast through Karlstad, Minnesota, named for the city of Karlstad in V?rmland, Sweden. Karlstad is Minnesota's Moose Capitol, exemplified by the moose design on the city water tower. However, the moose population in northwestern Minnesota has dropped down into little to none.
