| Its hard to imagine that at one point this wild stretch of railroad saw upwards of 12 mainline freights a day, traveling at speeds of up to 50 MPH! Now adays, its equally hard to imagine what keeps 'the key to the Alphabet Route" open; sometimes as few as two trains a week travel the entire distance to Connellsville. Somehow the WLE keeps scraping together enough interchange traffic to keep the line up, and for that I'll always be grateful. |
