Remarks & Notes

The 1979 Pacific Railroad Society "Mountain Outin" passenger special, with Amtrak SDP40F 518 and 517, is racing east downgrade through Cameron after cresting the Tehachapi Summit. Coming around the corner is westbound Santa Fe 8740, and witnessing the closure rate between the two trains while hanging out of the vestabule was "quite a rush".
