Class C61 was rebuilt from class D51 in 1948 and 1949, and is among the trio of Japanese Hudson (C60, C61, C62). C6120 is the only active unit of C61, restored for excursion use by East Japan Railway Company (JR East) in 2011. She has just completed working for "(EL) SL Sendai Miyagi Destination Campaign" on June 29 and 30, 2013 between Sendai and Kogota(40kim north of Sendai) that encouraged the 3.11 disaster stricken area.
