| The N700A series Shinkansen train G3 is leaving Kyoto station as Hikari 491 from Nagoya to Hakata (Fukuoka), flanked by two track maintenance vehicles. These vehicles can brought into action with the help of auxiliary rails in a 90 degree angle to the tracks. All maintenance on the Shinkansen line is carried out since 1964 exclusively during the night, between midnight and 6 am in the morning. |
