Remarks & Notes

The line from Moutier up to Court in the Jura mountain range has a grade of up to 3.2 %, more then the Gotthard ramps, for which the "Elephant" C 5/6 # 2978 was built in 1917 by SLM Winterthur. The powerfull 2-10-0 is tackling the grade with an impressive exhaust of smoke and steam, pulling a train from Delémont to Tavannes, with the postal car Z 961 right behind the locomotive.
