      Remarks & Notes
Tug Cornell was built in 1949 at the Jakobson Shipyard in Oyster Bay, NY for the Lehigh Valley Railroad in New York City and was one of the Lehigh Valley Railroad's "Four Aces". It was built with a low pilot house in order for it to push railroad barges on the Harlem River in NYC. It is owned by the Lehigh Maritime Corp. weighs 140 tons and parks in Kingston, NY. It is diesel electric just like a locomotive. Every year it comes up for the annual Tugboat Roundup held in Waterford, NY. This tug also has an original Leigh Valley RR steam whistle that works like new. I have been able to get tours but not this year so I don't have a picture of the engine. Visit these websites for more info. http://www.tug44.org/tugboats.trawlers/tug-cornell/ http://www.tugboatenthusiastsociety.org/pages/tugtypes-railroad-01.htm (Some info I got is from these websites and is not mine. Other information I was told on my tour last year.)

Do you ever get the feeling as a model railroader, that you just might be creating something not "prototypical?" Same here.
