Remarks & Notes
Easily the weirdest train I've ever witnessed on the D&RGW is this one right here. Rio Grande's 649 local descends the Mapleton Bench near Spanish Fork with an Amtrak Lounge Cafe car, three Kennecott Copper Sulphuric Acid tank cars, three bulkhead flats, a covered hopper and two Southern Pacific bay window cabooses. The reason as to 'why' this train ran as you see it is lost to history, Aug. 27, 1988.
